Adult Spiritual Education

The Adult Spiritual Education program at South Church promotes a responsible search for truth and meaning and encourages a safe exchange of ideas. The program stimulates and nurtures personal and spiritual growth through diverse learning opportunities, offered within an environment of mutual support and encouragement.

Adult Spiritual Education (ASE) offers a variety of programs and classes to South Church, and the larger community as well.  Currently our program includes nonviolent communication skills, Women’s Spirituality book group, Minds Alive! speakers, and more, much more.

If you would be interested in facilitating a course, these are the broad areas we cover: social issues, foundations of Unitarian Universalism, 7th Principle or Earth-based spirituality, spiritual practices, creativity and life skills.  Within these broad areas we have lots of scope.  I hope you will think about what you could add to our lineup this winter or spring.

The process for getting a class/program accepted is easy.  Fill out the 2 page form below,  then submit it to Jackie Ellis or one of the other members of the committee, Lance Hellman or James Funston.  We will work with you to schedule your program and to publicize it to the church and larger community.
