The 35th Annual Pocket Gardens of Portsmouth Tour

Friday, June 21 from 5-8pm and Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 10-4pm

This year's tour concentrates on gardens in the Little Harbor neighborhood bordered by South Street, Middle Street, and Miller Avenue.  The self-guided walking tour features eight private gardens, one public garden, and educational opportunities including:

  • John Forti, author of The Heirloom Gardener: Traditional Plants and Skills for the Modern World
  • Susan Pike, nature write for the Portsmouth Herald
  • Pollinator Pathways: representatives from this local group will discuss native plants
  • Ikebana demonstrations
  • Enjoy musicians, plein air artists, and cookies along the tour of these beautiful gardens, both casual and formal, designed by professionals and enthusiasts

 

$25 Early-bird tickets are on sale from April 1 - June 20 or when sold out.

Retail sales begin May 14 at the following location:

Gardener’s Supply in Greenland, Wentworth Greenhouses in Rollinsford, Churchill’s in Exeter, 

Eldredge Lumber in York, and Stratham Hill Nursery in Stratham.   

 

$30 Day-of tickets will be sold at our tour headquarters:

South Church, 292 State Street, Portsmouth.

Tickets are good for use on either tour day.

To care for the gardens, their owners, and for the enjoyment of all our patrons, our tour has limited ticket sales to 1000.

Online ticket patrons will receive an email with instructions to pick up your brochure ticket  in advance from 73 Court Street or during the tour from our tour headquarters at 292 State Street. 

Descriptions of each garden will be available along the tour or check back here to access your own copy during or after the tour.
